About this event

Nordic Innovation House started the Bifrost Talks -series as a response to the Covid-19 crisis, which quickly disrupted the life and business-as-usual here is Silicon Valley and around the world. In order to provide information and practical guidance for startups in a time of crisis, we have hosted weekly webinars with local experts since April. Now that the crisis has turned into a new normal for the foreseeable future, we will continue the series to the second half of 2020 on a monthly basis.

Join the Bifrost Talks fall kick off on Thursday Aug 27!

Chander Chawla, a Silicon Valley entrepreneur and Arne Tonning, a Norwegian Venture Capitalist, host the Valley Nordic-podcast, where they discuss global perspectives on startup business, technology, and culture.

Now we have invited them to bring their podcast to the visual media. We invite you to join the discussion as Chander and Arne will take a look at the latest tech highlights from Silicon Valley!

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

CHANDER CHAWLA is a businessman who brings a global perspective to technology and design. I’ve lived and worked in six countries in multiple sectors and functions within the hi-tech industry. Highlights include commercializing disruptive mobile technologies like WiFi and wearable devices, running a $600M business, and creating a product to bridge the physical and digital worlds as an entrepreneur. In addition to my career in the business world, I’ve advised the Swedish government on economic growth policy. My diverse experience and my training in Complex Systems have given me the unique ability to find the interconnectedness of unrelated phenomena. I frequently keynote on innovation, commercializing new technologies, scaling businesses, and seeing the unseen. I write about philosophy, leadership, the arts and human behavior on my blog at cdoq.blogspot.com. In a nutshell, I am a skipper of stones, builder of bridges, and burster of bubbles.

ARNE TONNING is Partner at Alliance Venture, the leading early-stage tech VC in Norway, filling the roles of investor, non-executive director and advisor. Arne is most excited when working with ambitious founders and startups to solve hard problems to build great companies. He spent the last five years as Investor in Residence at Nordic Innovation House (NIH) in Silicon Valley for Innovation Norway, advising and supporting startups in the NIH community and on NIH programs. Before entering the world of startups and VC, Arne has been both a management consultant and research scientist. He holds BSc and MSc degrees in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University. Arne is co-hosting the Valley Nordic podcast.
